The World Just Lost a Wonderful Man!!


But Heaven just got a whole lot brighter with his sweet spirit! Brad's dad passed away earlier this week.
EUGENE P. HIBDON passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Enloe Hospital after a brief illness. He was born October 29, 1921 in Caddo, OK to Claude and Minnie Hibdon. "Gene" and his parents made three trips back and forth to California. They settled in Orland in 1929. He graduated from Orland High School in 1939. He joined the Army Air Corp in 1942 and served in Kansas and Texas. He learned his mechanical skills as a flight engineer which served him the rest of his life. After World War II, Gene worked at Union Oil, Hibdon & Gamble garage in Orland, before finding his work/home at the Finch Ranch. He worked there until he was 82. Gene continued his early mornings to meet his friends at the doughnut shop.
Gene was predeceased by his wife of 31 years, Idola. He is survived by his oldest son, Ron Hibdon (Carolyn) of Chico, Danny and Darrell of Sacramento and daughter, Debra Gill (Bob) of Black Diamond, WA. He also leaves brothers, Leon Hibdon (Lorraine) of Chico, Kenneth (Jane) of Orland; sisters, Arlene Allen of Antioch, CA and Tressie Richardson of Chico; six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Gene is also survived by two stepsons, Brad (Berta) and Rod Ramsey of Orland; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The families will miss his quiet, loving and caring ways. He was an active member in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Orland, where his service will be held on Monday, August 2, 2010 at 1:00 p.m.
Arrangements are being made by F.D. Sweet and Sons of Orland. Contributions may be made to the Orland Senior Nutrition Site or the Orland Fire Department, c/o the mortuary at 825 A Street, Orland, CA 95963.

Summer Makeovers






Got tired of the dull off white and painted the livingroom, hallway, and kitchen this great Aztec Tan. Also painted the cabinets a nice fresh bright white...love the results! It's been 7 years since we've done any painting around here. The new color feels good!
