Croptober at Lucie's

Lucie decided to have a crop at her house in October. She's thinking of being a consultant for Creative Memories just to do scrap classes and have fun. This definitely was fun! Behind me in the photo are Lucie, Amanda, Laura (Owens), and Valerie.

Sweet Mosey!

Josh and Mosey on the grass outside the Orland Veterinary Hospital ...14 Oct. 2010
Seeing this photo on Facebook this morning made me soooooo happy! Mosey (Joshua's Jack Russell Terrier) was hit by a car on Monday (it was a hit-and-run). He's gotten out of the house a couple times and has always headed north away from the busy road. We think this time he and Charlie, Lucie's dog, were attracted by all the kids walking home from school which is just a couple blocks down. Charlie was lost for a while and found 3 hours later and escaped injury. But Mosey was not so lucky. He sustained severe head trauma. For the first 2 days he didn't open his eyes and we weren't sure if he was going to survive. Yesterday he started moving on his own and trying to open his eyes. This morning he is doing even better, tho not out of the woods. He can't see right now and moving isn't easy for him but we're hoping it's temporary. The vet said he might be able to go home tomorrow. I am so thankful for the power of prayer. Josh and Lucie are going to buy baby gates now to keep this from happening again. Cause no matter what some people might think pets ARE family and are just like kids. Mosey is definitely Josh and Lucie's baby!

After the Rain

We had an awesome rain storm this afternoon. It only lasted about 10 minutes but it really poured! Afterwards I went out with my camera to see what beauty I could photograph. Check out the rainbow, reflections, and that black sky in the east!!

Girl Scout Bridging Ceremony...May 2010

Tyeler and Paige both advanced in Girl Scouts during their Bridging Ceremony in May. They were excited that their mom could be there. Tina and Kathy came over from Laytonville for the ceremony, then took the girls to dinner afterwards before they headed back home.

TS Treasured Hunt 2010

For the Final Challenge (#4) we were asked to use the word 'End' in our title. Also include bling, ledger paper, journaling, ribbon, and something hand-made. I did a tribute to FIL Gene for this one.
Journaling reads: One of the things I truly believe is that family love is an eternal thing. That love doesn't end with the passing of a loved one...it goes on forever! We miss you, Gene!!

TS Treasured Hunt 2010

For challenge #3 we were asked to spotlight a technique that we love. I love doing faux stitching. We also needed to include black & white and bling on our page. I love black & white with red so this photo of Sammy was perfect for this LO!

TS Treasured Hunt 2010

For Challenge #2 we had to use a Book Title as the title for our page and include some journaling using the phrase, "things I learned about...". Grandma passed away in May so I decided to do a LO about her and something she taught me...you don't have to be loud to be heard.

TS Treasured Hunt 2010

I'm taking part in their 2nd Chance Round since I didn't sign up in time for the main contest. This is what I did for challenge #1. Part of the challenge was to include 2 photos I took myself and include something handmade. I made the lace flower.

Lemonade Anyone???

I helped Josh and Lucie do a yard sale a couple weeks ago. Tyeler and Paige sold cookies and lemonade on Saturday. They quit when it got too hot but they made $32...not bad!

Family Photos

Photo ops with MOST of our kids are pretty rare. So even tho Gene's funeral was not a happy occasion, it WAS nice having the kids here. The boys (Troy, Josh, and Jeff) were pall bearers at their grandpa's funeral. This was also Troy's birthday (Aug. 2). These were kind of hurried pics cause he was heading back home to go camping with his family.

Summer Makeovers

Got tired of the dull off white and painted the livingroom, hallway, and kitchen this great Aztec Tan. Also painted the cabinets a nice fresh bright white...love the results! It's been 7 years since we've done any painting around here. The new color feels good!

The April Mega Muse is Here!!!!

This month's Mega Muse 'Ride On' features papers from Sassafras Lass's Apple Jack collection and Cosmo Cricket's Joy Ride. Check it out here... http://www.scrapmuse.com/pastKits.html
I have been having so much fun creating with it.

HAPPY EASTER!!

It's so quiet here with no little ones. No baskets, no Easter Egg hunts, no candy, but I did color some eggs and Brad is cooking a yummy roast chicken dinner. Tyeler texted us to let us know it is snowing in Laytonville. Josh and Lucie are at the airport waiting for Amanda to return from Texas. And today is TROY AND DENISE'S 18TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY... CONGRATS!!

While We're Waiting...Say Cheese!!

Oooops! Lucie pulled off the road just a fraction too far. After all the rain we've had her front tire sunk in the mud. That caused the back tire to raise just enough that they couldn't get traction to get out. But I got a lot of fun photos out of the deal...LOL!! She and Amanda had time to kill while waiting for the CHP. These are some of the pics they took with their cell phone while they waited.

43 Years!!!

Brad and I celebrated our 43rd anniversary on the 21st. We went to dinner at the Berry Patch with Tyeler and Paige. They borrowed money from us while we were there so they could buy us each a gift from the gift shop. The little penguin and seal are what they picked out...too cute!
