Josh and Mosey on the grass outside the Orland Veterinary Hospital ...14 Oct. 2010
Seeing this photo on Facebook this morning made me soooooo happy! Mosey (Joshua's Jack Russell Terrier) was hit by a car on Monday (it was a hit-and-run). He's gotten out of the house a couple times and has always headed north away from the busy road. We think this time he and Charlie, Lucie's dog, were attracted by all the kids walking home from school which is just a couple blocks down. Charlie was lost for a while and found 3 hours later and escaped injury. But Mosey was not so lucky. He sustained severe head trauma. For the first 2 days he didn't open his eyes and we weren't sure if he was going to survive. Yesterday he started moving on his own and trying to open his eyes. This morning he is doing even better, tho not out of the woods. He can't see right now and moving isn't easy for him but we're hoping it's temporary. The vet said he might be able to go home tomorrow. I am so thankful for the power of prayer. Josh and Lucie are going to buy baby gates now to keep this from happening again. Cause no matter what some people might think pets ARE family and are just like kids. Mosey is definitely Josh and Lucie's baby!

For the Final Challenge (#4) we were asked to use the word 'End' in our title. Also include bling, ledger paper, journaling, ribbon, and something hand-made. I did a tribute to FIL Gene for this one.
Journaling reads: One of the things I truly believe is that family love is an eternal thing. That love doesn't end with the passing of a loved one...it goes on forever! We miss you, Gene!!

For Challenge #2 we had to use a Book Title as the title for our page and include some journaling using the phrase, "things I learned about...". Grandma passed away in May so I decided to do a LO about her and something she taught me...you don't have to be loud to be heard.

Photo ops with MOST of our kids are pretty rare. So even tho Gene's funeral was not a happy occasion, it WAS nice having the kids here. The boys (Troy, Josh, and Jeff) were pall bearers at their grandpa's funeral. This was also Troy's birthday (Aug. 2). These were kind of hurried pics cause he was heading back home to go camping with his family.

We went shopping today and he got me a new rug shampooer. Then he treated me to lunch at Applebees. They have the best Oriental Chicken Salad...shhhh, don't tell Valerie! Troy came down for a Drs appointment. He and Justin were here when we got home from Chico. Halley and Bella are here too but they are off shopping with Aunt Valerie. Halley is driving!!! It's so quiet here with no little ones. No baskets, no Easter Egg hunts, no candy, but I did color some eggs and Brad is cooking a yummy roast chicken dinner. Tyeler texted us to let us know it is snowing in Laytonville. Josh and Lucie are at the airport waiting for Amanda to return from Texas. And today is TROY AND DENISE'S 18TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY... CONGRATS!!

Oooops! Lucie pulled off the road just a fraction too far. After all the rain we've had her front tire sunk in the mud. That caused the back tire to raise just enough that they couldn't get traction to get out. But I got a lot of fun photos out of the deal...LOL!! She and Amanda had time to kill while waiting for the CHP. These are some of the pics they took with their cell phone while they waited.

The January 'Sweet Nothings' specialty kit http://www.scrapmuse.com/shop/product_info.php?products_id=6139
included chipboard elements from Sassafrass Lass. In my LO above you'll see how I used them to frame the photos of my granddaughter at her Daisy Scout meeting. I also used some for the flower and leaves. I love how the chipboard adds fun and dimension to a LO. So easy!
Now hop on over to Missy and see what fun ideas she has to share with you.
Thank you for visiting us all today, we hope to see you on our Forum and have you join the fun of our month-long celebration of Love and ScrapMuse

When you think of February you think of LOVE! At ScrapMuse we are going to dedicate the month of February to spreading the love. "Spread the Love" will be a month long contest held on the ScrapMuse message board. We are going to spend the first 5 days of February getting everything ready for you. You will have the rest of the month to earn points by spreading the love about Scrapmuse, participating in weekly challenges, joining our Blog Hop, and posting on the message board. Since the contest is all about love.....there will also be random "love" points handed out! You will find a complete list of rules and ways to earn points on February 5th in the "Spread the Love" section of the message board. The grand prize for the scrapper with the most "love" at the end of the month will be a Brand New March 2010 Mega Muse and a July 2009 Mega Muse. We will also select a second place winner from a random drawing who will win a March, 2010 Mini Muse.
